Support for Trauma and Difficult Experiences

Trauma can affect people in many different ways. It may stem from a single event, ongoing difficult experiences, or situations where you felt unsafe, overwhelmed, unsupported, or powerless.

You might notice the impact through anxiety, feeling constantly on edge, emotional overwhelm, difficulty trusting others, low self-esteem, trouble sleeping, intrusive memories, or feeling disconnected from yourself and those around you.

When the past continues to affect the present.

Even when difficult experiences happened a long time ago, they can continue to influence how you think, feel, and respond to situations today.

Many people find themselves avoiding reminders of what happened, struggling with strong emotional reactions, or feeling stuck in patterns that once helped them cope but are no longer serving them.

Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to better understand these experiences and their impact, while helping you develop strategies to move forward.

How can we help?

At the feel good project, we can support you by:

  • Understanding the impact trauma and difficult experiences may be having on your life

  • Developing strategies to manage distress, triggers, and overwhelming emotions

  • Building emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Strengthening self-compassion and self-understanding

  • Exploring unhelpful patterns that may have developed as a way of coping

  • Supporting you to feel more grounded, safe, and connected

Trauma looks different for everyone.

Not everyone who has experienced trauma identifies with the word "trauma". Sometimes the impact of difficult experiences can show up in subtle ways, such as feeling constantly on guard, struggling with self-worth, finding it difficult to trust others, or feeling emotionally disconnected. Whatever your experiences may be, therapy can provide a space to explore them with curiosity, compassion, and support.
